Installing the palm-rest and keyboard assembly

Prerequisites

If you are replacing a component, remove the existing component before performing the installation procedure.

Steps

Place the palm-rest and keyboard assembly with connected MCU cable, in front of the base cover as shown.
Adhere the MCU cable to the battery, then connect the cable to the connector on the system board.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
NOTE:Skip this step if the computer was in Service Mode, and the battery was not disconnected.
Flip the palm-rest and keyboard assembly towards the base cover.
Align the front edge of the palm-rest and keyboard assembly at an angle into the bottom of the base cover, then snap the assembly into position. It should fit firmly into position, with no wide gaps visible between the palm-rest and keyboard assembly and base cover.

Tighten the four screws (M2x3.9, Torx 5) that secure the base cover to the palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
NOTE:Use a T5 Torx screwdriver to tighten the four screws (M2x3.5, Torx 5).
