Removing the right-thermal fan

Prerequisites

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
  2. Remove the Palm-rest and keyboard assembly.

Steps

  1. Remove the two screws (M2x3.7) that secure the fan to the base cover.
    CAUTION:Do not hold the fan assembly at the center, as it may damage the center bearing.
  2. Open the latch and disconnect the fan cable from the connector on the system board.
  3. Release the speaker cable from the routing guides on the fan.
  4. Lift the fan off the base cover.
