Removing the system board
Prerequisites
- Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
- Remove the Palm-rest and keyboard assembly.
- Remove the Battery.
- Remove the Solid-state drive.
- Remove the Wireless-module shield.
- Remove the Display assembly.
- Remove the Thermal fans.
- Remove the Heat sink.

- Right display assembly cable connector (for cameras)
- Right PCBeam connector
- Right fan cable connnector
- Right speaker cable connector
- M.2 solid-state drive slot
- Battery cable connector
- Palm rest and keyboard assembly connector

Steps
- Remove the two screws (M1.6x3.4) that secure the left and right PCBeam cables to the system board.
- Pry off the left and right PCBeam interposers from the system board, storing
them carefully for reuse.CAUTION:Handle the PCBeam interposers with care by the edges. Avoid touching the pins on the connectors.
- Disconnect the two speaker cables from the system board.
- Remove the four screws (M2x2) that secure the system board to the base cover.
- Hold the system board by the short (left and right) edges, and lift the board off the base cover with care.
