Creating a repository
with Dell Lifecycle Controller Integration for System Center Virtual
Machine Manager (DLCI for SCVMM)
To create
an update repository for Dell Lifecycle Controller Integration for
System Center Virtual Machine Manager (DLCI for SCVMM):
In the My Repositories tab in the Dell Repository Manager, click New > Dell Console Integration.
The Connect to Console window is displayed.
NOTE: The URL acts as a web
service. For example, https://<IP>/genericconsolerepository. In case, this IP is blocked by the Proxy Settings, you must add
this URL under the Exception.
Once you provide the correct web service details
for DLCI for SCVMM, you have to provide corresponding Username and Password to establish
the integration.
NOTE: Username and Password are not mandatory and it is up to the respective
console.
The Authentication Successful window displays.
Click OK.
The Base Repository window appears, the Console name displays DLCI for SCVMM.
Select a source for the repository and click Next.
The available options are:
Dell Online Catalog — You
can import the bundle(s) and components from the Dell Online Catalog
into the repositories you create.
Previous Catalogs — Allows
you to select the previous Dell catalogs.
If you select
this option, you have to select any of the available catalog groups
from the list and click Next.
The Select Archived Catalog window is displayed.
Select any of the catalogs from the available list, and then click Next.
Local Source Repository — During
repository creation, local source is an option/feature, to use a repository
or a catalog that is available and maintained locally (can be on any
accessible network) as the source repository. To set the Local Repository,
see Configuring source repository.
My Custom Repositories — Allows
you to select an existing repository as the base repository. The Select
Server(s) Group window is displayed with the available groups.
NOTE: If a catalog
path is provided by any console to DRM, then the option appears with
Console Name in the Base Repository window along with the existing
catalog options.
The Select Server(s) Group window is displayed with the available groups.
Select the required groups to create separate
repositories. Once you select any group, DRM shows the corresponding Repository Name.
You must select at least one group to proceed further.
One or more groups can also be selected.
Select from the following options you want
to include in the repository:
Latest updates for all devices — The available updates for existing and outdated devices are added
to the repository.
Latest updates for only out-of-date
devices — Only the latest updates for all outdated devices
are added to the repository.
7. Click Integrate.
You can change the Base Repository type at
any point during this process. Click Back.
Click Cancel at any time to exit without creating
a new repository.
8. The Summary window displays the properties
of the repository based on the selections. You have the option to
choose the type of bundles/components that you would like to add in
the repository. Available options are:
Windows x32 Bundles and Components
Windows x64 Bundles and Components
Linux Bundles and Components
NOTE: By default Windows x32 Bundles and Components option is selected.
Click Finish to create
the repository.
The Comparing updates… dialog box appears while creating the new repository. If multiple
groups were selected, multiple repositories are created. The New repository
from inventory window displays the message: Successfully created
repository from inventory.
Click Close in the New repository inventory window, to view the new SCVMM
repository.
