Steps
- Turn off the system and any peripheral devices connected to the serial port.
- Swap the serial interface cable with a known working cable, and turn
on the system and the I/O serial device.
If the problem is resolved, replace the interface cable with a known working cable.
- Turn off the system and the I/O serial device, and swap the serial device with a compatible device.
- Turn on the system and the I/O serial device.
