Removing the system board

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. SIM card module

    2. base cover

    3. battery

    4. WLAN card

    5. WWAN card

    6. SSD card or hard drive
    7. memory module

    8. heat sink assembly

    9. coin cell battery

    10. Power connector port

    11. chassis frame

  3. To release the system board:
    1. Remove the M2.0x3.0 screws that secures the metal bracket [ 1].
    2. Lift the metal bracket that secures the display cable [ 2].
    3. Disconnect the display cable from the connectors on the system board [ 3].
    4. Disconnect the power cable [ 4].

  4. To remove the system board:
    1. Disconnect the LED board, mother board and touchpad cable from the system board [1].
    2. Remove the M2.0x5.0 screws that secure the metal bracket and lift it away from the system board [2,3].
      • NOTE: The metal bracket referred is the USB-C port bracket.
