Removing the System Fan

  1. Follow the procedures in Before Working Inside Your Computer .
  2. Remove:
    1. SD card
    2. battery
    3. base cover
    4. keyboard trim
    5. keyboard
    6. memory
    7. optical drive
    8. hard drive
    9. display hinge
    10. palmrest
  3. Disconnect:
    1. system-fan cable
    2. I/O board cable

  4. Remove the screws that secure the system fan and lift the system fan to remove from the computer.
