Procedure
CAUTION When replacing the system board, it is important to hold it at the center of the board as shown in the image. The circuitry on the sides of the board is fragile and can be easily damaged if the system board is held at the sides or neck area.
NOTE When replacing the system board, angle the system board onto the palm-rest assembly with the SD-card slot side. Angling it this way while mounting the system board gives sufficient clearance as the audio daughter-board is beneath the other side of the system board.
- Align the screw holes on the system-board assembly with the screw holes on the palm-rest assembly.
- Replace the four screws (M2x4) that secure the system-board assembly to the palm-rest assembly.
- Adhere the tape and then connect the touch-screen cable to the system-board assembly if applicable.
- Adhere the tape that secures the touch-screen cable to the system-board assembly if applicable.
- Slide the fingerprint reader cable (optional) into the connector on the system-board assembly and close the latch to secure the cable.
- Adhere the tape that secures the fingerprint reader cable (optional).
- Slide the keyboard-control board cable and touchpad cable into their connectors on the system-board assembly and then close the latches to secure the cable.
- Connect the power-adapter port cable and speaker cable to the system-board assembly.
