Removing the palmrest

  1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer .
  2. Remove the:
    1. battery cover

    2. battery

    3. base cover

    4. hard drive

    5. keyboard

  3. Perform the following steps as shown in the illustration:
    1. Remove the screws (M2xL3) at the bottom of the computer which secure the palmrest to the computer [1].
    2. Lift the tab and disconnect the touch-pad cable and security board cable [2, 3].
    3. Disconnect the power-switch cable [4].
    4. Remove the screws that secure the palmrest to the computer [5].
    5. Release the tabs on the edges of the palmrest and remove the palmrest from the computer [6].
