A PowerStore node may experience high memory usage when a 4-port I/O card (OCP Mezz NIC) encounters persistent firmware errors. The NIC driver enters a continuous firmware error-recovery loop, and the platform manager's NIC polling mechanism repeatedly attempts to query the failing device, resulting in gradual memory accumulation on the affected node. This triggers the "High memory usage detected" alert (POWERDOCTOR_ISSUE_MAJOR).

This alert indicates that a hotfix could not be applied during node reimage because an NDU upgrade is in progress. The hotfix software slot is occupied by the pre-staged OS upgrade package. If the upgrade completes successfully, no action is required. If the upgrade is rolled back, the hotfix must be re-applied.
