Removal
Left side cover
Identify the left side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the left side cover latch to the chassis.
Pull on the left side cover latch to release the left side cover from the chassis.
Remove and lift the left side cover from the chassis.
Heat sink assembly (125 W air cooling)
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in order.
Remove the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video)
Install
Heat sink assembly (125 W air cooling)
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Install the processor fan and heat sink assembly on the system board and align with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in reverse order. Do not over tighten.
Connect the processor fan cable to the connector on the system board.
Left side cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide the bottom edge of the left side cover into the chassis.
Push the left side cover into place.
Tighten the captive screw that secures the left side cover latch to the chassis.
