Removal
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the cable cover lock to release the cable cover from the chassis.
Slide and lift the cable cover from the back of the computer.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter highlighted in blue.
Pry and remove the dust filter from the front cover.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover from the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outward and lift it away from the chassis.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the optical drive data and power cables from the optical drive.
Unroute the optical drive data and power cables from the routing guide on the drive bay.
Disconnect the hard drive data and power cables from the hard drive.
Lift the drive bay at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay from the chassis.
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Slide and lift the solid state drive from the SSD slot on the system board.
Install
Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch with the tab and slide the SSD into the slot on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay securing the tabs on the drive bay with the slots on the chassis.
Connect the hard drive data and power cables to the hard drive.
Connect the optical drive data and power cables to the optical drive.
Route the optical drive data and power cables through the guide on the drive bay.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the front cover tabs with the slots on the right side of the chassis.
Insert and rotate the front cover towards the chassis and press it into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the side cover onto the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the dust filter to the grooves on the front cover.
Press the dust filter into place on the front cover.
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the cable cover to the slots on the back of the chassis.
Insert the tabs on the cable cover into the slots on the back of the chassis then slide left.
Slide the cable cover lock to secure the cable cover to the chassis.
