Removal
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover highlighted in blue.
Slide the cable cover lock to release the cable cover from the chassis.
Slide and lift the cable cover from the back of the computer.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter highlighted in blue.
Pry and remove the dust filter from the front cover.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover from the chassis.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Slide and remove the wireless card bracket off the wireless card.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless card.
Slide and remove the wireless card from the system board.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outward and lift it away from the chassis.
Graphics Card
Identify the graphics card highlighted in blue.
Lift the tab to open the PCIe latch.
Push and hold the securing tab on the graphics card slot, then lift the graphics card out of the slot.
Solid State Drive Expansion Card
Identify the solid state drive expansion card highlighted in blue.
Lift the tab to open the card retention bracket.
Lift and disconnect the solid state drive expansion card from the system board.
Place the solid state drive expansion card on a flat and clean surface.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the solid state drive expansion card.
Slide and remove the solid state drive from the connector on the exapnsion card.
Puck Antenna Expansion Card
Identify the puck antenna expansion card highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the puck antenna module cables from the puck antenna expansion card on the back of the chassis.
Lift the tab to open the card retention bracket.
Remove the puck antenna expansion card from the system board.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the optical drive data and power cables from the optical drive.
Unroute the optical drive data and power cables from the routing guide on the drive bay.
Disconnect the hard drive data and power cables from the hard drive.
Lift the drive bay at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay from the chassis.
Coin Cell Battery Cover
Identify the coin cell battery cover highlighted in blue.
Pinch the securing tabs on the coin cell cover to release it from the coin cell battery socket.
Lift the coin cell cover off the battery socket.
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever on the coin cell battery socket to release the coin cell battery from the socket.
Remove the coin cell battery from the coin cell battery socket.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive bracket to the system board.
Slide and lift the bracket that secures the SSD to the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Slide and lift the solid state drive from the SSD slot on the system board.
Media Card Reader
Identify the media card reader highlighted in blue.
Unroute the power supply cables from the routing guides on the media card reader bracket.
Remove the screw that secures the media card reader bracket to the chassis.
Lift the media card reader to disconnect it from the system board.
Lift and remove the media card reader along with the bracket from the system board.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Route the fan cable from under the power supply cables.
Push the fan down and lift the fan off the chassis.
Lift the fan off the fan bracket.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
Remove the memory module from the memory module slot.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Remote Power Switch Cable
Identify the remote power switch cable highlighted in blue.
Unroute the processor power cables and move them away from the remote power switch cable.
Disconnect the remote power switch cable from the system board.
Disconnect the power button cable from the remote power switch cable.
Unroute the remote power switch cable from the routing guides on the chassis.
Pinch the securing tabs on the remote power switch cable, thread it through the chassis slot, and remove it.
External Port
Serial Port Module
Identify the serial port module highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the serial module to the chassis.
Push the serial port module inwards to disconnect the cable.
Disconnect the serial port module cable from the system board.
Lift the serial port module off the system board.
Intrusion Switch
Identify the intrusion switch highlighted in blue.
Press the securing clip, then disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the system board.
Unroute the intrusion switch cable from the routing guide on the chassis.
Slide and lift the intrusion switch from the chassis.
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever down and away from the processor to free it, then then extend it completely.
Open the processor cover completely.
Gently lift the processor from the processor socket.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Remove and lift the front I/O bracket from the chassis.
Disconnect the intrusion switch and speaker cables from the system board.
Disconnect the power button cable from the system board.
Press the securing clip and disconnect the power cables from the system board.
Disconnect the HDD and ODD data and power cables from the system board.
Unroute the power supply unit, HDD and ODD cables from the routing guide on the chassis.
Remove the screw mounts that secure the system board to the chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Lift the system board at an angle and remove it from the chassis.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Slide the front I/O ports into the slots on the chassis and align the screw holes on the system board with those on the chassis.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.
Install the screw mounts that secure the system board to the chassis.
Route the power supply unit, HDD and ODD cables through the routing guide on the chassis.
Connect the HDD and ODD data and power cables from the system board.
Connect the power cables to their respective connectors on the system board.
Connect the power button cable to the system board.
Connect the intrusion switch and speaker cables to the system board.
Align with the screw holes and install the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever and the processor cover are fully extended in the open position.
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place it on the socket.
Once the processor is fully seated, close the cover and push the lever down, securing it under the tab.
Intrusion Switch
Identify the intrusion switch location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the intrusion switch into the slot on the chassis.
Route the intrusion switch cable through the routing guide on the chassis.
Connect the intrusion switch cable to the system board.
Serial Port Module
Identify the serial port module location highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws on the serial port module.
Install the serial port module.
Connect the serial port module cable to the system board.
Insert the serial port module into the slot on the chassis.
Install the screws that secure the serial port module to the chassis.
External Port
Remote Power Switch Cable
Identify the remote power switch cable location highlighted in blue.
Thread the remote power switch cable through the slot on the chassis and press the remote power switch cable until it clicks into place in the slot on the chassis.
Route the remote power switch cable through the routing guides on the chassis.
Connect the power button cable to the remote power switch cable.
Connect the remote power switch cable to the system board.
Route the processor power cables through the routing guide on the chassis.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Memory Module
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Install the memory module into the slot and press down it until the securing clips lock in place.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Align the screw holes on the fan to the rubber mounts on the fan bracket, then push the fan into place.
Align and place the fan into the slot on the chassis.
Route the fan cable below the power supply cables
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Media Card Reader
Identify the media card reader location highlighted in blue.
Align the media card reader with the screw holes and install it on the system board.
Align the media card reader and push it down to connect it to its connector on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the media card reader bracket to the chassis.
Route the power supply cables through the routing guides on the media card reader bracket.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Coin Cell Battery
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the coin cell battery into the socket with the positive side (+) label facing up.
Snap the coin cell battery into the socket.
Coin Cell Battery Cover
Identify the coin cell battery cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the coin cell battery cover with the battery socket and press it into place.
Drive Bay
Identify the drive bay location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay securing the tabs on the drive bay with the slots on the chassis.
Connect the hard drive data and power cables to the hard drive.
Connect the optical drive data and power cables to the optical drive.
Route the optical drive data and power cables through the guide on the drive bay.
Puck Antenna Expansion Card
Identify the puck antenna expansion card location highlighted in blue.
Align the puck antenna expansion card on the system board.
Align and place the puck antenna expansion card into the slot on the system board, then press down on it.
Rotate the card retention bracket towards the chassis until it snaps into place.
Connect the puck antenna module cables to the puck antenna expansion card on the back of the chassis.
Solid State Drive Expansion Card
Identify the solid state drive expansion card location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the SSD into the slot on the solid state drive expansion card.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the solid state drive expansion card.
Align the solid state drive expansion card with the slot on the system board.
Place the solid state drive expansion card into the slot and press down on it.
Rotate the card retention bracket toward the chassis until it snaps into place.
Graphics Card
Identify the graphics card location highlighted in blue.
Align the graphics card with the slot on the system board.
Using the alignment post, insert the graphics card into the connector and press it down firmly.
Rotate the PCIe latch towards the chassis until it snaps into place.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the front cover tabs with the slots on the right side of the chassis.
Insert and rotate the front cover towards the chassis and press it into place.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the wireless card into the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Slide and install the wireless card bracket on the wireless card.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the wireless card.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the side cover onto the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Dust Filter
Identify the dust filter location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the dust filter to the grooves on the front cover.
Press the dust filter into place on the front cover.
Cable Cover
Identify the cable cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the cable cover to the slots on the back of the chassis.
Insert the tabs on the cable cover into the slots on the back of the chassis then slide left.
Slide the cable cover lock to secure the cable cover to the chassis.
