Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover from the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outward and lift it away from the chassis.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay highlighted in blue.
Lift the drive bay assembly at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay assembly from the chassis.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heat sink (as shown in the video).
Processor Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Remove the processor heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heat sink (as shown in the video).
5 GbE Optical Module
Identify the 5 GbE optical module highlighted in blue.
Remove the optical fiber connector cover from the optional 5 GbE optical module.
Loosen the screws that secure the 5 GbE optical module cover to the 5 GbE optical module.
Loosen the screw that secures the 5 GbE optical module to the system board.
Lift the 5 GbE optical module at an angle to remove the tabs from the slot on the chassis, then remove it from the system board.
Install
5 GbE Optical Module
Identify the 5 GbE optical module location highlighted in blue.
Install the 5 GbE optical module at an angle and align its tabs with the slots on the chassis.
Align the 5 GbE optical module with the slot on the chassis and connect it to the system board.
Tighten the screw that secures the 5 GbE optical module to the system board.
Tighten the screws that secure the 5 GbE optical module cover to the 5 GbE optical module.
Install the optical fiber connector cover on the optional 5 GbE optical module.
Processor Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Install the processor heat sink assembly on the system board and align it with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Align the processor fan and heat sink assembly with the screw holes, then install it on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Connect the processor fan cable to the system board.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay assembly to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay assembly, securing the tabs on the drive bay with the slots on the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and insert the front cover tabs into the slots on the right side of the chassis.
Rotate the front cover toward the chassis and press it into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the side cover onto the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
