Removal
Side Cover
Identify the side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
Slide and lift the side cover from the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover highlighted in blue.
Using a plastic scribe, gently pry and release the tabs that secure the front cover to the chassis.
Rotate the front cover outward and lift it away from the chassis.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay highlighted in blue.
Lift the drive bay assembly at an angle to release the tabs from the chassis.
Slide and remove the drive bay assembly from the chassis.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the processor fan cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the processor fan and heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heat sink (as shown in the video).
Processor Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor heat sink assembly highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the processor heat sink assembly to the system board. Loosen in reverse order.
Remove the processor heat sink assembly from the system board.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heat sink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push the release lever down and away from the processor to free it, then fully extend the lever.
Lift the processor cover completely.
Gently lift the processor from the processor socket.
Install
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever and the processor cover are fully extended in the open position.
Align the notches on the processor with the tabs on the socket and place it on the socket.
Once the processor is fully seated, close the cover and push the lever down, securing it under the tab.
Processor Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Install the processor heat sink assembly on the system board and align it with screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Processor Fan and Heat Sink Assembly
Identify the processor fan and heat sink assembly location highlighted in blue.
Apply paste or pad included with the heatsink. Apply in a spiral pattern.
Align the processor fan and heat sink assembly with the screw holes, then install it on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the processor fan and heat sink assembly to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not overtighten.
Connect the processor fan cable to the system board.
Drive Bay Assembly
Identify the drive bay assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide and secure one side of the drive bay assembly to the chassis.
Press down the other end of the drive bay assembly, securing the tabs on the drive bay with the slots on the chassis.
Front Cover
Identify the front cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and insert the front cover tabs into the slots on the right side of the chassis.
Rotate the front cover toward the chassis and press it into place.
Side Cover
Identify the side cover location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the side cover onto the chassis.
Tighten the screws that secure the side cover to the chassis.
