How to replace the Speakers on a Dell Pro 14 Essential PV14250

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Speakers and a PV14250 Dell Pro 14 Essential. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover, Battery Cable, Battery and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
2. Loosen the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
3. Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
4. Pry the base cover near the top left corner of the hinge. Pry from recess points near the hinges.
5. Loosen the base cover by working on the left, right and, bottom sides to open the base cover.
6. Lift the base cover off the system.

Battery Cable

1. Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
2. Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
3. Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.

Battery

1. Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
2. Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
3. Lift the battery, along with the battery cable, off the system.
4. Unroute the battery cable from the battery.
5. Slide down the clamp that secures the battery cable to the battery.
6. Remove the battery cable from the battery.

Speakers

1. Identify the speaker highlighted in blue.
2. Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
3. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
4. Unroute the speaker cable through the routing guides on the system.
5. Lift the speakers along with its cables from the system.

Install

Speakers

1. Identify the speaker location highlighted in blue.
2. Place the speakers into their slots on the system.
3. Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the system.
4. Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
5. Connect the touchpad cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.

Battery

1. Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
2. Install the battery cable on the battery.
3. Slide the clamp upwards to secure the battery cable to the battery.
4. Route the battery cable through guides on the battery.
5. Insert the battery along with the battery cable into the slot on the system.
6. Install the screws to secure the battery to the system.

Battery Cable

1. Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
2. Connect the battery cable to the system board.

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
3. Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
4. Install the screws that secure the base cover to the plam rest.
