How to replace the Memory Module on a Dell Pro 14 Essential PV14250

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Memory Module and a PV14250 Dell Pro 14 Essential. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
2. Loosen the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
3. Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
4. Pry the base cover near the top left corner of the hinge. Pry from recess points near the hinges.
5. Loosen the base cover by working on the left, right and, bottom sides to open the base cover.
6. Lift the base cover off the system.

Memory Module

1. Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
2. Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end of the memory module slot until the memory module pops up.
3. Slide and remove the memory module from the slot on the system board.

Install

Memory Module

1. Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory into the slot at an angle.
3. Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.

Base Cover

1. Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
3. Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest.
4. Install the screws that secure the base cover to the plam rest.
