Removal
Base cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the hinge area and continue prying on all its sides to loosen the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the battery to the system.
Lift the battery, along with the battery cable, off the system.
SSD
Wireless module (WLAN)
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from its connector on the I/O board.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the I/O board off the palm rest assembly.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from its connector on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the fan off the palm rest assembly.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right display hinge to the system board.
Pry open the right display assembly hinge at a 90 degree angle.
Lift the tape and disconnect the power adapter port cable from the system board.
Unroute the power adapter port cable from the routing guide on the palm rest assembly.
Lift the power adapter port, along with the cable, off the palm rest assembly.
Speaker and antenna assembly
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from its connector on the system board.
Unroute and remove the speaker cables and the WLAN antenna cables from the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Lift the speaker and antenna assembly off the palmrest assembly. Use a scribe to lift under the grommets.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the connector on the touchpad.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the assembly.
Lift the touchpad off the assembly.
System board assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Peel off the tape that secures the display cable to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board and USB board cable from its connector on the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the USB Type-C port bracket to the system board.
Lift the USB Type-C port bracket from the system.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the system board off the palm rest assembly.
USB board
Identify the USB board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left display hinge to the system board.
Pry open the left display assembly hinge at a 90 degree angle.
Remove the screw that secures the USB board to the palmrest assembly.
Lift the USB board from the palm rest assembly and flip it over by folding the USB board cable gently.
Hold the USB board in place and lift the latch to disconnect the USB board cable from the USB board.
Remove the USB board and place the USB board cable back on the palmrest assembly.
Power Button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the power button to the system.
Lift the power button, along with its cable, from the system.
Palm rest assembly
Identify the palm rest assembly highlighted in blue.
Peel the I/O board and USB board cable off the palm rest assembly.
Slide the palm rest assembly carefully off the display assembly.
Install
Palm rest assembly
Place the display assembly on a clean and flat surface with the display panel facing up.
Identify the palm rest assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide the palm rest assembly under the display hinges.
Adhere and install the I/O board and USB board cable on the palm rest assembly.
Power Button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into the slot on the system.
Install the screw that secures the power button to the system.
USB board
Identify the USB board location highlighted in blue.
Position the USB board and ensure that the USB board cable latch of the USB board is visible.
Fold the USB board cable, connect the USB board cable to the USB board and close the latch.
Flip over and install the USB board and fold the cable back towards the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw that secures the USB board to the palm rest assembly.
Close the left display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left display hinge.
System board assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Place the system board on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the system.
Install the USB Type-C port bracket in its slot on the system.
Install the screws that secure the USB Type-C port bracket to the system board.
Connect the I/O board and USB board cable to its connector and secure the latch.
Connect the display cable to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tape to secure the display cable.
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the touchpad in the slot on the assembly.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the assembly.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the assembly.
Connect the touchpad cable and close the latch to secure.
Speaker and antenna assembly
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, install the speakers in the slots on the system.
Route the speaker and WLAN antenna cables through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the speaker cable to its connector on the system board.
Power adapter port
Identify the power adapter port location highlighted in blue.
Install the power adapter port into the slot using the alignment post.
Route the power adapter port cable through the routing guide on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the power adapter port cable to the system board. Adhere the tape to secure.
Close the right display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the right display hinge.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan in the slot on the palm rest assembly and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the fan cable to its connector on the system board.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Install the I/O board and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable to its connector on the I/O board. Close the latch to secure.

Insert the battery along with the battery cable into the slot on the system.
Install the screws to secure the battery to the system.
Battery cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the palm rest assembly and snap into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
