Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover from the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover along the gap formed near the display hinges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Speakers
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secures the speaker cable to the coin cell battery.
Use a plastic scribe to pry up the bottom of the head of the cable connector first, and then lift it away from the system board.
Unroute the right speaker cable from the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Lift the speakers along with its cables from the palm rest assembly.
Install
Speakers
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, install the speakers along with its cables into the slots on the palm rest assembly.
Route the right speaker cable along the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the speaker cables to the connectors on the system board.
Adhere the tape that secures the speaker cable to the coin cell battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
