Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover from the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover along the gap formed near the display hinges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right display hinge to the palm rest assembly.
Lift and open the right display hinge to an angle of 90 degrees from the palm rest assembly.
Peel the tape, open the latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the connector on the I/O board.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and lift the I/O board at an angle, moving it away from the port slots, then remove it from the palm rest assembly.
Power Button
Identify the power button with fingerprint reader cable highlighted in blue.
Lift the power button with fingerprint reader cable from the palm rest assembly.
Install
Power Button
Identify the power button with fingerprint reader cable location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment post, place the power button with fingerprint reader cable into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Slide and place the I/O board on the palm rest assembly and align with the ports on the palm rest.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable on the I/O board, close the latch and adhere the tape.
Close the right display hinge downwards on the palm rest assembly and align it with the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the right display hinge to the palm rest and assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
