Removal
Base cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover from the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry open the base cover along the gap formed near the display hinges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Peel the mylars that secures the display and camera cables on the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display and camera cables from the system board.
Open the display to a 90 degree angle and place the computer at the edge of a flat table.
Remove the screws that secure the right and left display hinges to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the display assembly off the palm rest assembly.
Close the display assembly, turn the computer over and place it on the flat surface.
Install
Display Assembly
Place the palm rest assembly at the edge of a flat table with hinge side facing the user.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align it with the screw holes and install the display assembly on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the right and left display hinges to the palm rest assembly.
Close the display assembly, turn the computer over and place it on the flat surface.
Connect the display and camera cables on the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the mylars that secures the display and camera cables on the system board.
Battery cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable on the system board.
Base cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
