How to replace the Memory Module on a OptiPlex AIO 65 7420

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Memory Module and a OptiPlex AIO 65 7420. The procedure will also include removing the Stand, Back Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Stand

1. Identify the stand highlighted in blue.
2. Press and hold down on the tab that secures the stand to the display assembly base.
3. Slide and lift the stand off the display assembly base.

Back Cover

1. Identify the back cover highlighted in blue.
2. Press down on the tab and slide the back cover to release.
3. Lift the back cover off the display assembly base.

Memory Module

1. Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
2. Using the tab, pry open and lift the DIMM door on the system board shield to access the memory slots.
3. Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
4. Slide and lift the memory module from the memory module slot.

Install

Memory Module

1. Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the memory module slot
3. Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
4. Close the DIMM door and press it into place securing it.

Back Cover

1. Identify the back cover location highlighted in blue.
2. Align the back cover to the display assembly base.
3. Place and slide the back cover into place on the display assembly base.

Stand

1. Identify the stand location highlighted in blue.
2. At an angle, align the tabs on the stand with the slots on the display assembly base.
