Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the thumbscrew that secures the cover to the system.
Slide and lift the cover to remove from the system.
Hard Drive Module
Identify the hard drive assembly highlighted in blue.
Press the blue tabs on both sides of the hard drive assembly and slide to release it from the system.
Remove the hard drive assembly from the system.
System Fan
Identify the system fan highlighted in blue.
Press the blue tabs on both sides of the system fan to release.
Turn the system fan over to remove it from the system. The fan cable does not need to be unplugged.
WLAN (Wireless Module)
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD.
Holding the sides, slightly lift and slide the SSD out from the connector.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Separate the securing clips from the memory module until the memory module pops up.
Remove the memory module from the socket on the system board.
VGA port
Identify the VGA port highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the cable from the connector on the system board.
Remove the screw that secure the VGA port to the system.
Remove the screws that secure the VGA port to the system.
Pull and lift the VGA port away from the system.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the heatsink to the system. Loosen in order.
Lift the heatsink away from the system.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the heatsink (as shown in the video).
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Push down and out to release the lever. Lift the lever upward and lift up the processor shield.
Hold the processor firmly by the sides and lift the processor straight upwards from its socket.
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the plastic tab to the system board.
Lift the plastic tab away from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the system.
Slide the system board to disengage the connectors from the back of the system & lift away from the system.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Lower the system board into the system until the connectors and screw holes align.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the system.
Place the plastic tab on the system board.
Install the screw to secure the plastic tab to the system board.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Hold the processor firmly by the sides and lower downwards into its socket. Do not use force as the pins can be easily damaged.
Close the processor shield by rotating it inwards. Lower the lever and push it under the tab to lock.
Heatsink
Identify the heatsink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Place the heatsink on the processor. Install with the arrows pointing toward the back of the system.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the heatsink to the system board. Tighten in order.
VGA port
Identify the VGA port position highlighted in blue.
Insert and align the VGA port into the system.
Install the screw that seure the VGA port to the system.
Install the screws that seure the VGA port to the system.
Connect the cable to the connector on the system board.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory into the slot at an angle.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
Solid State Drive (SSD)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch with the tab and insert the SSD into the connector.
Install the screw to secure the SSD.
WLAN (Wireless Module)
System Fan
Identify the system fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the system fan and slide the system fan until it clicks into place.
Hard Drive Module
Identify the hard drive assembly location highlighted in blue.
Insert the drive assembly into the slot on the system.
Slide the drive assembly toward the connector until it clicks into place.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the cover on the system and slide the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the thumb screw to secure the cover to the system.
