Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, lift up to disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Coin cell
Identify the coin cell highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the coin cell battery cable from the system board.
Unroute the coin cell battery cable from the routing guide on the fan.
Peel the coin cell battery, along with its cable, off the system board.
Install
Coin cell
Identify the coin cell location highlighted in blue.
Adhere the coin cell battery on to the coin cell battery slot on the system board.
Connect the coin cell battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Route the coin cell battery cable to the routing guide on the fan.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
