Removal
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch until the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
BOSS-N1 card carrier
Identify the BOSS-N1 card carrier highlighted in blue.
Pull and lift the BOSS-N1 card carrier retention latch lock to open.
Slide the BOSS-N1 card carrier out.
BOSS-N1 Module
Identify the BOSS-N1 Module highlighted in blue.
Remove the BOSS-N1 power and signal cable from the BOSS-N1 module.
Remove the screw that secures the BOSS-N1 module on the riser 1.
Slide the BOSS-N1 module toward the front of the chassis and lift the module.
Air shroud
Identify the air shroud highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges of the air shroud, lift the air shroud out of the system.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly highlighted in blue.
Rotate the blue release levers to unlock the cage assembly from the system.
Hold the release levers, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
Riser 1B
Identify the riser 1B highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screw on the riser.
Disconnect any cables that are connected to the expansion card or the riser.
Press the blue release tab or blue button on the riser.
Holding the edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 3B
Identify the riser 3B highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screw on the riser.
Press the blue release tab or blue button on the riser.
Holding the edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 4A
Identify the riser highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the riser and system.
Press the blue release tab on the riser and holding the edges lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Riser 2A
Identify the riser 2A highlighted in blue.
Press the blue release tab or blue button on the riser.
Holding the edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Power supply unit
Select the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace.
Disconnect the power cable from the PSU that you intend to remove.
Press the release latch and holding the PSU handle, slide the PSU out of the bay.
Intrusion switch
Identify the intrusion switch module highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the intrusion switch cable from the connector on the system board cable.
Loosen the screw on the intrusion switch module.
Lift the intrusion switch module out of the slot on the system.
System memory
Select the system memory you want to replace.
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the socket.
Lift and remove the memory module from the system.
Processor and Heatsink Module (PHM)
Select the processor and heat sink module you want to replace.
Using a Torx #T30 screwdriver, Loosen the first and diagnally opposite(2nd) after that loosen the third and diagnally opposite(4th) screws three turns.
Loosen the captive screws 1 and 2 completely. After that loosen the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
Set all the anti-tilt wires to unlocked position (inward position).
Lift the PHM from the system and set the PHM aside with the processor side facing up.
If you are using an existing heat sink, remove the thermal grease on the heat sink by using a clean lint-free cloth.
System battery
Identify the system battery highlighted in blue.
Use a plastic scribe to pry out the system battery.
Lift the battery out of the socket.
Internal USB card
Identify the internal USB card highlighted in blue.
Holding the blue tag, lift the internal USB card to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Remove the USB memory key from the internal USB card.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card highlighted in blue.
Lift the blue latch to disengage the OCP card.
Push and slide the OCP card towards the rear end of the system to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
System board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board towards the front of the system.
At a tilted angle, lift the system board out of the chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the LAN on Motherboard (LOM) card to the system board.
Pull the LOM card and rear I/O board to disconnect from the system board.
Install
System board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Align and press the LOM card and rear I/O board until firmly seated on the system board.
Secure the LOM card to the system board with screws.
Holding the system board holder and plunger, lower the system board into the system.
Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Align the edge connectors on the TPM with the slot on the TPM connector.
Insert the TPM into the TPM connector such that the plastic rivet aligns with the slot on the system board.
Press the plastic rivet until the rivet snaps into place.
Replace the screw that secures the TPM to the system board.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card location highlighted in blue.
Lift the blue latch to install the OCP card.
Slide the OCP card into the slot in the system.
Close the latch to lock the OCP card to the system.
Internal USB card
Identify the internal USB card location highlighted in blue.
Connect the USB key to the internal USB card.
Align and press the internal USB card into the slot in the system until firmly seated.
System battery
Identify the system battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery with the "+" facing up and slide it under the securing tabs.
Press the battery into the connector until it snaps into place.
Processor and Heatsink Module (PHM)
Confirm the processor and heat sink module you want to replace.
Set the anti-tilt wires to the unlocked position on the heat sink (inward position).
Align the pin 1 indicator of the heat sink to the system board, and then place the processor heat sink module (PHM) on the processor socket.
Set the anti-tilt wires to the locked position (outward position).
Using a Torx #T30 screwdriver, In a random order, partially tighten the first and diagnal screw(2nd) screws after that third and diagnal(4th) screws (approximately 3 turns).
Tighten the captive screws 1 and 2 completely. After that tighten the captive screws 3 and 4 completely.
System memory
Confirm the system memory you want to replace.
Align the edge connector of memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket, and insert into the socket.
Press the memory module until the socket levers firmly click into place.
Intrusion switch
Identify the intrusion switch module highlighted in blue.
Align and place the intrusion switch module into the slot in the system until firmly seated.
Tighten the screw on the intrusion switch module.
Connect the intrusion switch cable to the connector on the system board cable.
Power supply unit
Confirm the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace.
Slide the PSU into the PSU bay until the release latch snaps into place.
Connect the power cable to the PSU that you intend to remove.
Riser 2A
Identify the riser 2A location highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Riser 4A
Identify the riser location highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges or the touch points, align the holes on the expansion card riser with the guides on the system board.
Lower the expansion card riser into place and press the touch points until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated on the system board connector.
Tighten the captive screws on the risers and system.
Riser 3B
Identify the riser 3B location highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screw to secure the riser on the chassis.
Riser 1B
Identify the riser 1B location highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Using a Phillips screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screw to secure the riser on the chassis.
Connect the cables to the expansion card on the riser.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until seated firmly.
Rotate the blue release levers to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
Air shroud
Identify the air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Tilt at an angle and align the tabs with the slots on the system and place the air shroud until it is firmly seated.
BOSS-N1 Module
Identify the BOSS-N1 Module location highlighted in blue.
Install the BOSS-N1 module and push horizontally towards the rear of the system untill firmly seated.
Install the screw that secures the BOSS-N1 module to the riser 1.
Connect the BOSS-N1 power and signal cables to the connectors on the BOSS-N1 module.
BOSS-N1 card carrier
Identify the BOSS-N1 card carrier location highlighted in blue.
Slide the BOSS-N1 card carrier into the BOSS-N1 module slot.
Close the BOSS-N1 card carrier release latch to lock the carrier in place.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system and slide the system cover.
Close the system cover release latch.
Using a flat head or Phillips screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position.
