Removal
Stand
Identify the stand highlighted in blue.
Press and hold down on the tab that secures the stand to the display assembly base.
Slide and lift the stand off the display assembly base.
Back Cover
Identify the back cover highlighted in blue.
Press down on the tab and slide the back cover to release.
Lift the back cover off the display assembly base.
System Board Shield
Identify the system board shield highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.
Lift the system board shield off the display assembly base.
I/O Cover
Identify the I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
Lift the I/O cover off the display assembly base.
Memory Module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Push both tabs on the DIMM door inwards, releasing it from the system board shield, then lift the DIMM door off the system board shield.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips on each end until the memory module pops up.
Hold the edges and carefully lift the memory module from the memory module slot.
SSD
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket.
Slide and lift the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Disconnect the antenna cables (black and white cables) from the WLAN.
Slide and lift the WLAN card from the wireless card slot.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Unroute the fan cable from the routing guide on the display assembly base.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the display assembly base.
Lift the fan off the display assembly base.
I/O Cover
Identify the I/O cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
Lift the I/O cover off the display assembly base.
Bottom Cover
Identify the bottom cover highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the bottom cover to the display assembly base.
Lift the bottom cover off the display assembly base.
I/O Bracket
Identify the I/O bracket highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O bracket to the display assembly base.
Lift the I/O bracket off the display assembly base.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the touchscreen and display backlight cables from the system board.
Open the latch and disconnect the audio, high speed and power cables from the system board.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
Pinching the securing clips of the display cable connector, and disconnect the display cable from the system board.
Loosen the captive screw that secure the heatsink.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Remove the screw that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Gently lift the system board assembly off the display assembly base.
Retractable Camera Assembly
Identify the retractable camera assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the camera assembly bracket to the display assembly base.
Lift the camera assembly bracket off the display assembly base.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the camera cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the retractable camera assembly to the display assembly base.
Slide the camera assembly under the heat sink and lift to remove.
Speakers
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the audio board.
Unroute the speaker cable from the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Lift the speakers along with its cable from the display assembly base.
Audio Board
Identify the audio board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the audio board shield to the display assembly base.
Lift the audio board shield off the display assembly base.
Open the latch and disconnect the audio cable from the audio board.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the audio board.
Remove the screws that secure the audio board to the display assembly base.
Lift the audio board off the display assembly base.
Power Button and I/O Board
Identify the power button and I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button and I/O board shield to the display assembly base.
Lift the power button and I/O board shield off the display assembly base.
Open the latch and disconnect the power cable from the power button and I/O board.
Open the latch and disconnect the high speed cable from the power button and I/O board.
Remove the screws that secure the power button and I/O board to the display assembly base.
Lift the power button and I/O board off the display assembly base.
Display Assembly Base
Identify the display assembly base highlighted in blue.
Unroute the audio, power and high speed cables from the display assembly base
After all the parts are removed, the display assembly base is remaining. No additional removals are needed.
Install
Display Assembly Base
Identify the display assembly base highlighted in blue.
Route the audio, power and high speed cables through the routing guides on the display assembly base
Power Button and I/O Board
Identify the power button and I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Place the power button and I/O board on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the power button and I/O board to the display assembly base.
Connect the power cable to the power button and I/O board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the high speed cable to the power button and I/O board and close the latch to secure.
Place the power button and I/O board shield on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the power button and I/O board shield to the display assembly base.
Audio Board
Identify the audio board location highlighted in blue.
Place the audio board on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the audio board to the display assembly base.
Connect the audio cable to the audio board and close the latch to secure.
Connect the speaker cable to the audio board.
Place the audio board shield on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the audio board shield to the display assembly base.
Speakers
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Install the speakers into their slots on the display assembly base.
Route the speaker cable to the routing guides on the display assembly base.
Connect the speaker cable to the audio board.
Retractable Camera Assembly
Identify the retractable camera assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide the retractable camera assembly under the heat sink into its slot on the display assembly base and align with the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the retractable camera assembly to the display assembly base.
Connect the camera cable to the system board.
Place the camera assembly bracket over retractable camera assembly.
Install the screws that secure the camera assembly bracket to the display assembly base.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Gently place the system board assembly on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Install the screw that secure the system board to the display assembly base.
Tighten the captive screw that secure the heat sink. Do not over tighten.
Connect the touchscreen and display backlight cables from the system board.
Connect the audio, high speed and power cables to the system board. Close the latch to secure it.
Connect the camera cable to the system board.
Connect the display cable to the system board.
I/O Bracket
Identify the I/O bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the I/O bracket on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the I/O bracket to the display assembly base.
Bottom Cover
Identify the bottom cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the bottom cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the bottom cover to the display assembly base.
I/O Cover
Identify the I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the I/O slots with the I/O ports, then place the I/O cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the fan into the slot on the display assembly base.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the display assembly base.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Route the fan cable through the routing guide on the display assembly base.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide the wireless card at an angle into the wireless card slot.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket.
SSD
Memory Module
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab and slide the memory module firmly into the slot at an angle on the memory module slot.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
Place the DIMM door into its slot on the system board shield and press it into place, securing it.
I/O Cover
Identify the I/O cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the I/O slots with the I/O ports, then place the I/O cover on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the I/O cover to the display assembly base.
System Board Shield
Identify the system board shield location highlighted in blue.
Place the system board shield on the display assembly base and align with screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the system board shield to the display assembly base.
Back Cover
Identify the back cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the back cover to the display assembly base.
Place and slide the back cover into place on the display assembly base.
Stand
Identify the stand location highlighted in blue.
At an angle, align the tabs on the stand with the slots on the display assembly base.
Slide the stand into place into the slot on the display assembly base.
