Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, pry the base cover from the edges.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the battery to the system.
Lift the battery out of the system.

Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Unroute the WLAN & WWAN antenna cables.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Lift the chassis frame away from the system chassis.
LED Daughterboard
Identify the LED daughterboard highlighted in blue.
Lift latch and disconnect the LED cable from the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the LED board to the system.
Lift the LED board and the cable from the system.
Touchpad buttons board
Identify the touchpad buttons board highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and use the blue tab to disconnect the touchpad buttons board cable.
Remove the adhesive tape that secures the speaker cable and unroute the cable to access the touchpad buttons board.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad buttons board.
Lift the touchpad buttons board from the system.
Install
Touchpad buttons board
Identify the touchpad buttons board location highlighted in blue.
Insert the touchpad buttons board into the slot to align the tabs with the grooves on the system.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad buttons board to the system.
Connect the touchpad buttons board cable and lower the latch to secure it to the connector on the touchpad board.
Route the speaker cable through the routing channels and adhere the tape to the touchpad buttons board.
LED Daughterboard
Identify the LED board location highlighted in blue.
Insert the LED board into the slot on the system.
Install the screw to secure the LED board.
Connect the LED cable and lower the latch to secure it to the system board.
Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Align and place the chassis frame on the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Route the WLAN and WWAN cables through chassis frame.

Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery and align the screw holes on the battery with the system.
Tighten the screw that secures the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secures the base cover to the system base.
