Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system base.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, pry the base cover from the edges.
Lift the base cover off the system base.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the battery to the system.
Lift the battery out of the system.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket.
Remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently disconnect the cables from the connectors on the WLAN.
Remove the WLAN from the connector.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the WWAN card bracket to the system board.
Remove the bracket that secures the WWAN antenna cables.
Using a plastic scribe or a flat head screwdriver, gently disconnect the cables from the connectors on the WWAN card.
Remove the WWAN card from the connector on the system board.

Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Unroute the WLAN & WWAN antenna cables.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Lift the chassis frame away from the system chassis.
Power Adapter Port
Identify the power adapter port (DC-in) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the Type-C bracket to the system board.
Lift the Type-C bracket away from the system.
Disconnect the power connector port cable.
Lift and remove the power connector port from the system.
Display Cables
Identify the display cables highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the eDP bracket to the system board.
Lift the eDP bracket away from the system.
Pull tab upwards to disconnect the eDP cable from the connector on the system board.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Unroute the wireless antennas from the routing guides.
Open the display assembly and place the system on a flat surface.
Remove the screws that secures the display assembly to the system chassis.
Remove the display assembly from the system.
Fingerprint Port
Identify the fingerprint port highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the fingerprint support bracket to the system board.
Lift the fingerprint support bracket away from the system.
Disconnect the fingerprint port.
System board Assembly
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the LED board cable.
Disconnect the speaker cable.
Remove the screws that secure the system fan.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the palmrest.
Lift the system board away from the system.
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the backlit cable and the keyboard cable from the connectors on the touchpad.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the palmrest.
Remove the keyboard away from the system.
Power button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button.
Lift the power button from the system.
Palmrest assembly
After all the parts are removed, the palmrest assembly is remaining.
Install
Palmrest assembly
Identify the palm rest assembly and place on a clean, flat surface.
Power button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Place the power button on the palmrest.
Install the screws that secure the power button.
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the keyboard on the palmrest.
Install the screws to secure the keyboard to the palmrest.
Connect the backlit cable and the keyboard cable to the connectors on the touchpad.
System board Assembly
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the system board on the palmrest.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the palmrest.
Install the screws to secure the system fan.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Connect the LED board cable to the system board.
Fingerprint Port
Identify the fingerprint port location highlighted in blue.
Connect the fingerprint cable to the connector on the system board.
Place the fingerprint support bracket.
Install the screw to secure the fingerprint support bracket to the system board.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the system chassis under the hinges of the display assembly.
Install the screws that secure the display assembly to the system chassis.
Close the display.
Route the wireless antennas through the routing guides on the chassis frame.
Display Cables
Identify the display cables location highlighted in blue.
Press down to connect the eDP cable to the connector on the system board and route the cable.
Install the eDP support bracket.
Install the screws to secure the eDP bracket to the system board.
Power Adapter Port
Identify the power adapter (DC-in) port location highlighted in blue.
Place the power connector port into the slot on the system.
Connect the power connector port cable.
Install the Type-C bracket.
Install the screws to secure the Type-C bracket.
Chassis Frame
Identify the chassis frame highlighted in blue.
Align and place the chassis frame on the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system chassis.
Install the screws to secure the chassis frame to the system board.
Route the WLAN and WWAN cables through chassis frame.

Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WWAN card into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the WWAN antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WWAN.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the WLAN.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Install the battery and align the screw holes on the battery with the system.
Tighten the screw that secures the battery to the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Route the battery cable through the routing clip and connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots on the edges, press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secures the base cover to the system base.
