Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Pry the base cover near the hinges. Pry from recess points near the hinges.
Loosen the base covery by working on the left, right and, bottom sides to open the base cover.
Lift to remove the base cover.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the battery.
Lift the battery out of the system.
Carefully push the battery filler downwards to remove it from the battery.
Peel the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
Turn the battery over.
Unroute the battery cable from the routing guides on the battery.
Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the battery.
Solid state drive (SSD)
Wireless Module (WWAN)
IO Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue. Procedure stays will vary depending on your configuration.
Remove the SIM card tray.
Remove the darwin antenna cable bracket from the system.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the connectors on the I/O daughter board.
Unroute the two darwin antenna cables and green P sensor cable from the routing guide.
Remove the screw that secures the fingerprint reader bracket to palm rest assembly.
Remove the fingerprint reader bracket from the system.
Disconnect the fingerprint reader cable from the I/O daughter board.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the I/O daughter board.
Remove the screws that secure the bridge connector board. Remove in order.
Remove the bridge connector board from the system.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O daughter board to palm rest assembly.
Peel the WWAN thermal pad affixed to the WWAN card compartment.
Use a plastic scribe to lift the I/O daughter board out of its compartment from the gap in its top side and remove it from the computer.
System Board assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw securing the WLAN card bracket to the system board.
Lift the bracket from the WLAN card module on the system board.
Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN module. Note the connections.
Remove the screws that secure the bridge connector board. Remove in order.
Remove the I/O daughter board bridge connector board from the system.
Remove the screws that secures the display cable bracket on the system board.
Remove the display cable bracket from the system board.
Use the pull tabs to disconnect the camera and display cables. Peel off the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secures the system board in place.
Remove the screws that secures the system board in place.
Slide and lift the system board to remove. Slightly shift left to clear the ports.
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly highlighted in blue.
Lift the latch and disconnect the keyboard and backlight cables from the connectors.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard assembly.
Carefully lift the keyboard assembly to remove it from the palm rest.
Keyboard
Postion the keyboard to enable the AR lock.
Identify the keyboard highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the keyboard support plate.
Separate the keyboard from the keyboard support plate.
Install
Keyboard
Postion the keyboard bracket to enable the AR lock.
Identify the keyboard location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the keyboard on the keyboard support plate.
Install the screws to secure the keyboard on the keyboard support plate.
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align the keyboard assembly in to its slot on palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard assembly.
Install the screws that secure the keyboard assembly.
Connect the keyboard and backlight cables. Close the latch to secure.
System Board assembly
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Install the system board using the alignment posts, ensuring to clear the USB-C ports.
Install the screws that secures the system board in place.
Install the screws that secures the system board in place.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the camera and display cables to the system board.
Align and place the display cable bracket on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the display cable bracket on the system board.
Install the bridge connector board to the I/O board and system board.
Install the screws in sequential order that secure the I/O daughter board bridge connector board in place.
Connect the antenna cables to the WLAN module. Connect short to empty, connect long to filled.
Install the WLAN module bracket on the system.
Install the screws that secure the WLAN module bracket in place.
IO Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Install the I/O daughter board in the slot and align the screw holes.
Adhere the WWAN thermal pad affixed to the WWAN card compartment.
Install the screws that secure the I/O daughter board to palm rest assembly.
Install the bridge connector board to the I/O board and system board.
Install the screws that secure the bridge connector board. Install in order.
Connect the speaker cable to the I/O daughter board.
Connect the fingerprint reader cable to the I/O daughter board.
Install the fingerprint reader bracket and align the screw hole.
Install the screw that secures the fingerprint reader bracket to palm rest assembly.
Route the two darwin antenna cables and green P sensor cable to the routing guide.
Connect the antenna cables to the connectors.
Install the darwin antenna cable bracket and align the screw hole.
Install the screw that secures the drawin antenna cable bracket.
Install the SIM card tray.

Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Turn the battery over.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the battery.
Route the battery cable through the routing guides on the battery.
Turn the battery over.
Adhere the tape that secures the battery cable to the battery.
Carefully push the battery filler upwards to attach it to the battery.
Install the battery into the slot on the system, aligning the screw holes.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the battery in place.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
