Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover at the gap near the display hinges.
Use a plastic scribe to pry open the base cover, inserting it at intervals to release the top, left, right, and bottom edges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Lift the wireless card bracket from the WLAN card.
Disconnect the WLAN antenna cables from the WLAN card.
Slide and remove the wireless card from the system board.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the WWAN module shield to the system board.
Lift the WWAN module shield off the WWAN module.
Remove the screw that secures the WWAN module bracket to the system board.
Lift the WWAN module bracket off the WWAN module.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the WWAN module.
Slide and remove the WWAN module off the system board.
Identify the wireless module (WWAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the WWAN module into the slot on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the ANT3 D/G.
Connect the blue cable to the ANT2 M2.
Connect the orange cable to the ANT1 M1.
Connect the white cable to the ANT0 M.
Place the WWAN module bracket on the WWAN module.
Install the screw that secures the WWAN module bracket to the system board.
Align and place the WWAN module shield on the WWAN module.
Install the screws that secure the WWAN module shield to the system board.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system board.
Lift the display cable bracket off the system board.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the palm rest assembly.
Open the left and right display hinges at an angle of 90 degrees from the palm rest assembly.
Lift the palm rest assembly at an angle off the display assembly.
Install
Display Assembly
Place the display assembly on a clean and flat surface with the display panel facing up.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Slide and place the palm rest assembly on the display assembly.
Close the left and right display hinges and align it with the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left and right display hinges to the palm rest assembly.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the display cable bracket on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system board.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, place the speakers into the slots on the palm rest assembly.
Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the speakers to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
Wireless Card (WLAN)
Identify the wireless card (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the wireless card into the slot on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the wireless card bracket on the wireless card.
Install the screw that secures the wireless card bracket to the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the base cover on the palm rest assembly, and snap it into place.
Tighten the captive screws to secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
