Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the hinges around the outside to loosen.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secures the battery cable.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
WLAN
SSD 2230 - slot 2
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD thermal shield and SSD.
Slide and lift the SSD thermal shield off the SSD.
Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the system board.
Speakers
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.
Peel the tape and partially lift the IO cable to access and unroute the speaker cable below it.
Peel off the black tapes that secure the speaker cable to the system.
Unroute and remove the speaker cable from the routing guides on the system.
Lift the speakers, along with the cable, from the system. Use a scribe to lift under the grommets.
Install
Speakers
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Using the alignment posts, install the speakers in the slots on the system.
Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the palm rest.
Adhere the black tapes that secure the speaker cable to the system.
Lower the IO cable into the routing channel and adhere the tape to secure.
Connect the speaker cable to the system board.
SSD 2230 - slot 2
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align the notch with the tab. Slide the SSD into the slot on the system.
Install the SSD thermal shield on the solid state drive (SSD).
Install the screw that secures the SSD and thermal shield.
WLAN
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Adhere the tape that secures the battery cable.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and snap into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
