Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the hinges around the outside to loosen.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest and keyboard assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Peel the tape that secures the battery cable.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad highlighted in blue.
Peel back the adhesive tape securing the bracket. Do not discard the tape.
Remove the screws that secures the touchpad bracket to the system.
Lift the metal bracket from the system.
Open the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the touchpad to the system.
Peel back the adhesive tape that secures the touchpad panel.
Lift the touchpad, along with the cable, from the system.
Install
Touchpad
Identify the touchpad panel location highlighted in blue.
Place the touchpad into the slot on the system.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad to the system.
Adhere the adhesive tape to secure the touchpad.
Install the touchpad bracket into the slot on the system. Adhere the tape if needed.
Install the screws to secure the touchpad bracket.
Adhere the adhesive tape to secure the touchpad bracket.
Connect the touchpad cable and close the latch to secure. Adhere the cable if needed.
Battery
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Adhere the tape that secures the battery cable.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and snap into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
