Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Pry the base cover near the hinges. Pry from recess points near the hinges.
Loosen the base covery by working on the left, right and, bottom sides to open the base cover.
Lift to remove the base cover.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the connector on the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left display hinge.
Lift to open the left display hinge.
Remove the screws that secure the RJ-45 ethernet port bracket.
Remove the RJ-45 ethernet port bracket from the I/O board.
Peel the tape that secures the I/O board connector latch to the I/O board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board connector cable.
Disconnect the coin cell battery cable from the connector on the I/O board.
Remove the screw that secures the I/O board to the palmrest assembly.
Lift and remove the I/O board from the palmrest assembly.
Install
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Install the I/O board and align the screw holes.
Install the screw to secure the I/O board to the palmrest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable and close the latch.
Adhere the tape that secures the I/O board connector latch to the I/O board.
Connect the coin cell battery cable to the connector on the I/O board.
Install the RJ-45 ethernet port bracket to the I/O board.
Install the screws to secure the RJ-45 ethernet port bracket.
Gently press the left display hinge downward and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left display hinge.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws to secure the base cover to the chassis.
