Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Speaker assembly
Identify the speakers highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the speaker cables from the IO board and system board.
Unroute the speaker cables from the routing guides on the system.
Lift the speakers along with the cables off the system.
Install
Speaker assembly
Identify the speakers location highlighted in blue.
Install the speakers into their slots on the palm rest assembly.
Route the speaker cable through the routing guides on the palm rest assembly.
Connect the speaker cables to the IO board and system board.
Battery
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
