Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
SSD
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.
Lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the wireless module.
Slide and lift the WLAN card from the connector.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and remove the fan off the palm rest assembly.
Heat Sink
Identify the heat sink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the heat sink to the system. Loosen in reverse order.
Lift the heat sink off the system.
Use the alcohol pad to clean the system board and heatsink (as shown in the video).
System Board
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Peel the tapes that secure the display and display board cables to the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the display board and display cables from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the right display hinge from the palmrest assembly.
Open the right display hinge to an angle of 90 degrees.
Remove the screws that secure the USB type-C bracket from the system board.
Lift the USB type-C bracket from the system board.
Lift the tab to disconnect the speaker I/O cable from the system board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad and I/O board cables from the system board.
Disconnect the display speaker cable from the system board.
Remove the screw that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and lift the system board off the palm rest assembly.
Install
System Board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Slide and place the system board on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw to secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Close the display hinges and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the display hinge to the palmrest assembly.
Install the USB type-C port bracket in its slot on the system board.
Install the screws that secure USB type-C bracket to the system board.
Connect the display speaker cable to the system board.
Connect the touchpad and IO board cables to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Align the pins and push down to connect the speaker I/O cable to the system board.
Connect the display board and display cables to the system board. Close the latch to secure.
Adhere the tapes to secure the display and display board cables to the system board.
Heat Sink
Identify the heat sink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Place the heat sink on the system board and align the screw holes.
Tighten the screws that secure the heat sink to the system. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Slide and Install the fan into the slot on the palm rest assembly, and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the fan cable to its connector on the system board.
Wireless Module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the black cable to the auxiliary (black triangle).
Connect the white cable to the main (white triangle).
Install the bracket on the wireless module.
Install the screw that secures the bracket to the wireless module.

Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
