Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover from the bottom left and continue to work on the sides to open the base cover.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Fan
Identify the fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and remove the fan off the palm rest assembly.
I/O board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the left display hinge to the palm rest assembly.
Lift to open the left display hinge at an angle of 90 degrees.
Disconnect the speaker I/O cable from the I/O board.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the I/O board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the I/O board cable from the I/O board.
Remove the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Slide and lift the I/O board off the palm rest assembly.
Power Button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Lift the power button along with its cable off the system.
Install
Power Button
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into the slot on the system.
I/O board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Slide and install the I/O board into their slot and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screw that secure the I/O board to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the I/O board cable to the I/O board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the speaker I/O cable to the I/O board.
Connect the speaker cable to the I/O board.
Close the left display hinge and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the left display hinge to the palm rest assembly.
Fan
Identify the fan location highlighted in blue.
Slide and Install the fan into the slot on the palm rest assembly, and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the palm rest assembly.
Connect the fan cable to its connector on the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover with the screw holes and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
