Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Using a Torx #5, remove the screws that secure the base cover.
Starting at the bottom left corner, carefully pry the base cover along the bottom and sides.
Grasp the bottom and rotate it upwards to release the base cover from the system.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue
Use the tab to assist in disconnecting the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the battery.
Remove the screw that secures the battery and the SSD shield.
Lift the battery off the palm rest assembly
SSD (Solid State Drive)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue. The shield indicates the type and location.
Remove the screw that secures the solid state drive bracket.
Lift the solid-state drive thermal bracket off the solid-state drive
Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the system board.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Peel back the mylar to access the memory module.
Using your fingertips, carefully spread apart the securing clips until the memory module pops up.
Hold the edges and carefully lift the memory module up from connector on the system board.
Left Fan
Identify the left fan highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the left fan.
Remove the screw that secures the left fan.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Slide the fan out and lift to remove it from the system.
Right Fan
Identify the right fan highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the right fan.
Remove the screw that secures the right fan.
Disconnect the fan cable from the system board.
Lift to remove the fan from the system.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable bracket.
Lift to remove the display cable bracket from the system board.
Lift to disconnect the cables from the system board. Use a plastic scribe if needed.
Lift from underneath to disconnect the display bracket holder.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display hinges.
Lift or rotate the left and right display hinges to open them.
Slide the palmrest assembly away from the display assembly.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board.
Lift to remove the I/O board.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the wireless (WLAN) bracket.
Remove the bracket to access the WLAN cables.
Disconnect the antenna cables from the WLAN. Use a plastic scribe to gently release.
Open the latch and disconnect the power button cable.
Disconnect the left speaker and right speaker cables. The left speaker cable orientation may vary.
Open the latch and disconnect the keyboard cable.
Remove the screws and bracket that secure the left USB type-C ports.
Remove the screws and bracket that secure the right USB type-C ports.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly
Lift the system board off the palm rest assembly

System Board Assembly
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue
Install the system board into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly
Install the bracket and screws to secure the right USB type-C ports.
Install the bracket and screws to secure the left USB type-C ports.
Connect the keyboard cable and close the latch to secure.
Connect the left speaker and right speaker cables. The left speaker orientation may vary.
Connect the power button cable. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the white cable to the "MAIN" (empty or white triangle).
Connect the black cable to the "AUX" (filled or black triangle).
Install the bracket to secure the WLAN antenna cables.
Install the screw to secure the wireless (WLAN) bracket.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue
Install the I/O board into the slot on the system and align it to the system board connector.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board.
Display Assembly
Position the display assembly face up with the hinges open to 90 degrees.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue
Slide the palmrest assembly on the display assembly. Ensure all cables are clear.
Rotate the hinges downward to close them and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the hinges to the palmrest.
Display Cable
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue
Partially route the display cables under the system board and install the display bracket holder.
Align and push down to connect the display assembly cables.
Install the display cable bracket, using the alignment posts to position.
Install the screws that secure the display cable bracket.
Right Fan
Identify the right fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system board.
Install the screw that secures the fan.
Left Fan
Identify the left fan location highlighted in blue.
Install the fan into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Connect the fan cable to the system board.
Install the screws that secure the fan to the system board.
Install the screw that secures the fan.
Memory Modules
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Peel back the mylar to access the memory module.
Align the notch on the memory module with the tab on the slot and slide the memory into the slot at an angle.
Press the memory module down until it clicks into place.
SSD (Solid State Drive)
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue
Align the notch on the SSD with the tab on the slot and slide the SSD into the slot.
Install the SSD thermal bracket and align the screw holes.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system.
Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue
Install the battery and align the screw holes.
Install the screws that secure the battery and the SSD shield.
Install the screws that secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue
Align the base cover and press the edges of the cover until it clicks into place.
Install the screws that secure the base cover. (requires Torx #5)
