Removal
Power supply unit
Select the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace.
Disconnect the power cable from the PSU that you intend to remove.
Press the release latch and holding the PSU handle, slide the PSU out of the bay.
BOSS-N1 card carrier
Identify the BOSS-N1 card carrier highlighted in blue.
Pull and lift the BOSS-N1 card carrier retention latch lock to open.
Slide the BOSS-N1 card carrier out.
System Cover
Identify the system cover highlighted in blue.
Using a flat head or a Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock counter clockwise.
Lift the latch until the system cover slides back.
Hold the cover on both sides, and lift the cover away from the system.
BOSS-N1 Module
Identify the BOSS-N1 Module highlighted in blue.
Remove the BOSS-N1 power and signal cable from the BOSS-N1 module.
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver remove the screw that secures the BOSS-N1 module.
Slide the BOSS-N1 module toward the front of the chassis and lift the module.
Support bar
Identify the support bar highlighted in blue.
Pull the plunger and rotate to lock the plunger on the support bar.
If full-length risers are installed, then loosen the captive screws on the support bar that hold the risers.
Lift the support bar from the system.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly highlighted in blue.
Rotate the cooling fan cage handle to unlock the cage assembly from the system.
Hold the handle, and lift the cooling fan cage assembly away from the system.
Air shroud top cover
Identify the air shroud top cover highlighted in blue.
Holding the edges of the air shroud top cover, lift the top cover out of the air shroud.
Riser 1B - FL
Identify the full length riser 1B highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screws on the riser.
Rotate the riser handle to unlock the riser from the system.
Holding the riser handle and edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Disconnect the GPU power cables and signal cables from the PEM and power distribution board (PDB).
Riser 4A - FL
Identify the full length riser 4A highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screws on the riser.
Rotate the riser handle to unlock the riser from the system.
Holding the riser handle and edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
Disconnect the GPU power cables and signal cables from the PEM and power distribution board (PDB).
Riser 3A - FL
Identify the full length riser 3A highlighted in blue.
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, loosen the blue thumb screws on the riser.
Rotate the riser handle to unlock the riser from the system.
Disconnect the GPU power cables and signal cables from the system board.
Holding the riser handle and edges, lift the expansion card riser from the riser connector on the system board.
GPU Air shroud
Identify the GPU air shroud highlighted in blue.
Press the latches on either sides of the GPU air shroud.
Holding the latches of the air shroud, lift the GPU air shroud out of the system.
Processor expansion module
Identify the processor expansion module highlighted in blue.
Disconnect all the cables from the processor expansion module.
Rotate the PEM handle to unlock the PEM from the system.
Hold the handle, and lift the PEM away from the system.
System memory
Select the system memory you want to replace.
To release the memory module from the socket, simultaneously press the ejectors on both ends of the socket.
Lift and remove the memory module from the system.
Side wall brackets Left
Identify the left side wall bracket highlighted in blue.
Press the tabs to release the side wall cable holder.
Move the cables out of the side wall cable holder and observe the cable routing.
Press the center tab to release the bracket from the chassis, and lift it away from the system.
Side wall brackets Right
Identify the right side wall bracket highlighted in blue.
Press the tabs to release the side wall cable holder.
Move the cables out of the side wall cable holder and observe the cable routing.
Press the center tab to release the bracket from the chassis, and lift it away from the system.
Riser Air shroud
Identify the riser air shroud highlighted in blue.
Press the latches on either sides of the air shroud.
Holding the latches of the air shroud, slide and lift the air shroud out of the system.
VGA and Serial COM port
Identify the VGA and Serial COM port highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the VGA and Serial COM port cables from the rear I/O board.
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver loosen the screw that secures the VGA and Serial COM port.
Lift the VGA bracket from the system.
Open the latchs on the VGA bracket.
Slide and remove the VGA and Serial COM port out of the VGA bracket.
Riser 2
Identify the riser 2 highlighted in blue.
Disconnect any cables that are connected to the system board
Press the blue release tab and holding the riser by the blue touch points, lift the riser 2 from the system board.
Power distribution board (PDB)
Identify the power distribution board (PDB) highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw.
Holding the touch point firmly lift the PDB from the system.
Internal USB card
Identify the internal USB card highlighted in blue.
Holding the blue tag, lift the internal USB card to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
Remove the USB memory key from the internal USB card.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card highlighted in blue.
Lift the blue latch to disengage the OCP card.
Push and slide the OCP card towards the rear end of the system to disconnect from the connector on the system board.
System board
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Disconnect the cables from the system board.
Using the system board holder and plunger, slide the system board towards the front of the system.
At a tilted angle, lift the system board out of the chassis.
Remove the screws that secure the LOM card and rear I/O board to the system board.
Holding the edges, pull the LOM card and rear I/O board to disconnect from the system board.
Install
System board
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and press the LOM card and rear I/O board until firmly seated on the system board connector.
Secure the LOM card and rear I/O board to the system board with screws.
Holding the system board holder and plunger, lower the system board into the system.
Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
Connect the cables to the system board.
OCP card
Identify the OCP card location highlighted in blue.
Lift the blue latch to install the OCP card.
Slide the OCP card into the slot in the system.
Close the latch to lock the OCP card to the system.
Internal USB card
Identify the internal USB card location highlighted in blue.
Connect the USB key to the internal USB card.
Align and press the internal USB card into the slot in the system until firmly seated.
Power distribution board (PDB)
Identify the power distribution board (PDB) location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the power distribution board (PDB) into the system board slot.
Tighten the captive screw.
Riser 2
Identify the riser 2 location highlighted in blue.
Holding the touch points, align and place until the expansion card riser connector is fully seated.
Connect the cables that are connected to the system board
VGA and Serial COM port
Identify the VGA and Serial COM port location highlighted in blue.
Slide the VGA and Serial COM port into the VGA bracket.
Close the latch in the VGA bracket.
Install the VGA bracket to the system.
Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver tighten the screw that secures the VGA and Serial COM port.
Connect the VGA and Serial COM port cables to the rear I/O board.
Riser Air shroud
Identify the riser air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Align the slots on the riser air shroud with the guides on the system.
Align and place the air shroud on the system and slide it to the rear of the system until it is firmly seated.
Side wall brackets Right
Identify the right side wall bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide until the side wall bracket is seated firmly.
Close the side wall cable holder until the holder clicks into place.
Side wall brackets Left
Identify the left side wall bracket location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide until the side wall bracket is seated firmly.
Close the side wall cable holder until the holder clicks into place.
System memory
Confirm the system memory you want to replace.
Align the edge connector of memory module with the alignment key of the memory module socket.
Insert into the socket and press the memory module until the socket levers firmly click into place.
Processor expansion module
Identify the processor expansion module location highlighted in blue.
Holding the handle and place the PEM into the system until seated firmly.
Rotate the handle to lock the PEM into the system.
Connect all the cables to the processor expansion module.
GPU Air shroud
Identify the GPU air shroud location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs with the slots on the system and place the GPU air shroud until it is firmly seated.
Riser 3A - FL
Identify the full length riser 3A location highlighted in blue.
Holding the riser handle, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Connect the GPU power cables and signal cables to the system board.
Rotate to close the handle to the lock position (slide to the front of the chassis).
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screws to secure the riser on the chassis.
Riser 4A - FL
Identify the full length riser 4A location highlighted in blue.
Place the riser on the riser air shroud or the adjacent riser, facing card holder side on top.
Connect the GPU power cables and signal cables to the PEM and power distribution board (PDB).
Holding the riser handle, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Rotate to close the handle to the lock position (slide to the front of the chassis).
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screws to secure the riser on the chassis.
Riser 1B - FL
Identify the full length riser 1B location highlighted in blue.
Place the riser on the riser air shroud or the adjacent riser, facing card holder side on top.
Connect the GPU power cables and signal cables to the PEM and power distribution board (PDB).
Holding the riser handle, insert the riser into place and press the touch points until the riser is fully seated.
Rotate to close the handle to the lock position (slide to the front of the chassis).
Using a Phillips #2 screwdriver, tighten the blue thumb screws to secure the riser on the chassis.
Air shroud top cover
Identify the air shroud top cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the top cover tabs with the slots on the air shroud and place the top cover until it is firmly seated.
Cooling fan cage assembly
Identify the cooling fan cage assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the cooling fan cage assembly into the system until seated firmly.
Rotate the handle to lock the cooling fan cage assembly into the system.
Support bar
Identify the support bar location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the support bar tabs with the guide slots on the system.
Rotate the plunger to the lock support bar into the system.
If full-length risers are installed, then tighten the captive screws on the support bar that hold the risers.
BOSS-N1 Module
Identify the BOSS-N1 Module location highlighted in blue.
Install the BOSS-N1 module and push horizontally towards the rear of the system untill firmly seated.
Install the screw that secures the BOSS-N1 module to the bracket.
Connect the BOSS-N1 power and signal cables to the connectors on the BOSS-N1 module.
System Cover
Identify the system cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the system cover with the guide slots on the system and slide the system cover.
Close the system cover release latch.
Using a flat head or Phillips #2 screwdriver, rotate the lock clockwise to the lock position.
BOSS-N1 card carrier
Identify the BOSS-N1 card carrier location highlighted in blue.
Slide the BOSS-N1 card carrier into the BOSS-N1 module slot.
Close the BOSS-N1 card carrier release latch to lock the carrier in place.
Power supply unit
Confirm the power supply unit (PSU) you want to replace.
Slide the PSU into the PSU bay until the release latch snaps into place.
Connect the power cable to the PSU that you intend to remove.
