Removal
Left side cover
Place the computer in an upright position as shown in the AR.
Identify the left side cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis.
Pull the left side cover release latch to release the left side cover away from the chassis.
Lift the left side panel from the chassis.
Right side cover
Identify the right side cover highlighted in blue.
Pull and lift the right side cover away from the chassis.
Front bezel
Position the system as shown in the AR.
Identify the front bezel highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the front I/O panel cable from the system board.
Release the latch to unroute the cable.
Remove the screws that secures the front bezel to the front panel.
Pull the tabs of the front bezel from the slots on the front panel.
Unroute the front I/O-panel cable through the slot on the front panel.
Pull the front bezel, together with the front I/O-panel cable, away from the chassis slowly.
Antenna
Identify the antenna cables for external antenna highlighted in blue.
Loosen the bolts that connect the antenna cables to the SMA connectors on the chassis.
Remove the antenna cables off the SMA connectors on the chassis to disconnect the external antenna from the computer.
Memory module
Identify the memory module highlighted in blue.
Push the securing clips away from the memory module.
Lift the memory module off the slot.
Single graphics card
Identify the single graphics card highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the graphics card power cables from the graphics card.
Lift the pull tab and open the expansion card door.
Push the securing tab on the PCIe slot on the system board away from the graphics card.
Grasp the card by its top corner, and ease it out of the slot.
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the bracket to the system.
Side and lift the bracket off the wireless module.
Disconnect the WLAN cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module.
Slide and remove the wireless module out of the slot.
SSD
Coin cell battery
Identify the coin cell battery highlighted in blue.
Press the battery release lever away from the coin cell battery until the battery pops up.
Lift the coin cell battery out of its socket.
Lower front chassis fan
Identify the lower front chassis fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the lower front chassis fan cable from the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the lower front chassis fan to the chassis.
Push the tab to release the lower front chassis fan from the chassis.
Slide and lift the lower front chassis fan off the chassis.
Rear chassis fan
Identify the rear chassis fan highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the rear chassis fan cables from the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the rear chassis fan to the chassis.
Lift the rear chassis fan off the chassis.
Heatsink assembly
Processor
Identify the processor highlighted in blue.
Press the release lever down and then push it away from the processor to release it from the tab.
Extend the release lever completely and open the processor cover.
Lift the processor off the processor socket.
SMA cable
Identify the SMA cable highlighted in blue.
Remove the washer and nuts that secure the SMA cable connector to the chassis.
Unroute the SMA cable assembly from the slot on the rear I/O.
Remove the SMA cable from the securing clip on the system board.
Remove the SMA cable routing from the PCIe x16 slot.
Lift the SMA cable connector off the chassis.
VR heat sink
Identify the VR heat sink highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the VR heat sink to the system board.
Lift the VR heat sink (2) off the system board.
System board
Position the computer as shown in the AR.
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the hard drive data cables from the system board.
Disconnect the processor power cables from the system board.
Disconnect the system board power cables from the system board.
Disconnect the SATA power cable from the system board.
Remove the screw that secures the front I/O-bracket to the chassis and remove the front I/O-bracket.
Remove the front I/O-bracket from the chasis.
Remove the screws that secures the system board to standoffs on the chassis.
Hold the edges of the system board where the front I/O-ports & rear ports are located. Lift the system board at angle and remove it from the chasis.
Install
System board
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Slide the front I/O-ports on the system board into the front I/O-slot on the chassis and align the screw holes on the system board with the standoffs on the chassis.
Insall the screws that secures the system board assembly to the standoffs on the chassis.
Align the front I/O bracket to the front I/O ports and install the bracket on the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the front I/O bracket to the chassis.
Connect the SATA power cable to the system board.
Connect the system board power cables to the system board.
Connect the processor power cables to the system board.
Connect the hard drive data cables to the system board.
Position the computer as shown in the AR.
VR heat sink
Identify the VR heat sink location highlighted in blue.
Align the captive screws of the VR heat sink (2) with the screw holes on the system board.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the VR heat sink to the system board.
SMA cable
Identify the SMA cable location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the SMA cable connector on the chassis.
Route the SMA cable under the PCIe x16 slot.
Insert the SMA cable to the securing clip on the system board.
Route the SMA cable assembly through the slot on the rear I/O.
Install the washer and nuts that secure the SMA cable connector to the chassis.
Processor
Identify the processor location highlighted in blue.
Ensure that the release lever on the processor socket is fully extended and the processor cover is fully open.
Align the pin-1 corner on the processor with the pin-1 corner on the processor socket, and then place the processor in the processor socket.
When the processor is fully seated in the socket, close the processor cover.
Push the release lever down and place it under the tab on the processor cover.
Heatsink assembly
Rear chassis fan
Identify the rear chassis fan location highlighted in blue.
Align and install the rear chassis fan with the slot on the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the rear chassis fan to the chassis.
Connect the rear chassis fan cables to the system board.
Lower front chassis fan
Identify the lower front chassis fan location highlighted in blue.
Slide and push the fan until the releasing clip snaps into position on the chassis.
Install the screw that secures the lower front chassis fan to the chassis.
Connect the lower front chassis fan cable to the system board.
Coin cell battery
Identify the coin cell battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the new coin cell battery into the battery socket with the positive side facing up, and snap the battery into place.
SSD
Wireless module (WLAN)
Identify the wireless module (WLAN) location highlighted in blue.
Insert the WLAN into the connector on the system board.
Connect the WLAN cables (black and white cables) from the wireless module.
Align the screw hole on the bracket with the screw hole on the system.
Install the screw that secures the bracket on the system.
Single graphics card
Identify the single graphics card location highlighted in blue.
Place the card into the PCIe slot and press down firmly until the single graphics card snaps into place.
Close the expansion card door and snap the latch back into position.
Connect the graphics card power cables to the graphics card.
Memory module
Identify the memory module location highlighted in blue.
Insert the memory module into the slot and press down until it snaps into position and the securing clips lock in place.
Antenna
Identify the antenna cables for external antenna location highlighted in blue.
Align and connect the antenna cables to the SMA connectors on the chassis.
Tighten the bolts to secure the antenna cables to the SMA connectors on the chassis to connect the external antenna to the computer.
Front bezel
Identify the front bezel location highlighted in blue.
Align the front bezel with the front panel.
Route the front I/O panel cable through the slot on the front panel.
Push the front bezel towards the front panel and ensure the tabs clip on to the slots of the front panel.
Install the screws that secures the front bezel to the front panel.
Route the front I/O panel cable through the latch and close the latch.
Connect the front I/O panel cable to the system board.
Position the system as shown in the AR.
Right side cover
Identify the right side cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the tabs on the right side cover with the slots on the chassis.
Push the right side cover towards the chassis until it snaps into place.
Left side cover
Identify the left side cover location highlighted in blue.
Locate the tabs on the left side cover and slots on the chassis.
Rotate the left side cover towards the chassis until it snaps into place.
Install the release latch to secure the left side cover to the system.
Tighten the captive screw that secures the left side cover release latch to the chassis.
