Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Pry open the base cover from the recesses that are located in the U shaped indents at the top edge of the base cover near the hinges.
Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the base cover on the palm rest assembly and snap it into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the battery to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the battery off the palm rest assembly.
Flip the battery.
Unroute the battery cable from the routing guides on the battery.
Disconnect and remove the battery cable from the battery.
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Place and connect the battery cable to its connector on the battery.
Route the battery cable through the routing guides on the battery.
Flip the battery.
Align and place the battery into the slot on the palm rest assembly.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the battery to the palm rest assembly.
Wireless Module (WWAN)
SSD
Display Cable
Identify the display cable highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system board.
Lift the display cable bracket off the system board.
Use the pull tabs to disconnect the display and camera cable from the system board.
Identify the display cable location highlighted in blue.
Align the pins and push down to connect the display and camera cable to the system board.
Install the display cable bracket on the system board.
Install the screws that secure the display cable bracket to the system board.
System Board Assembly
Identify the system board assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secure the WLAN bracket to the system board.
Lift the WLAN bracket off the system board.
Disconnect the WLAN cables from the WLAN card.
Remove the screws that secures the system board to the palm rest assembly. Remove in order.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Lift the system board assembly off the palm rest assembly.
Identify the system board assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the system board assembly on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the system board to the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secures the system board to the palm rest assembly. Install in order.
Connect the black cable to "AUX"
Connect the white cable to "MAIN"
Install the WLAN bracket on the system board.
Install the screw that secure the WLAN bracket to the system board.
I/O Board
Identify the I/O board highlighted in blue.
Disconnect fan and speakers cables from the I/O board.
Lift the latch and disconnect the touchpad cable from the I/O board.
Remove the screws that secure the I/O board in place.
Slide the I/O board away from the palm rest assembly.
Identify the I/O board location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the I/O board on the palm rest assembly.
Install the screws that secure the I/O board in place.
Connect the touchpad cable on the I/O board. Close the latch to secure.
Connect the fan and speakers cables on the I/O board.
Power Button
Identify the power button highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button to the palm rest assembly.
Remove the power button off the palm rest assembly.
Identify the power button location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the power button on the palm rest assembly.
Remove the screws that secure the power button to the palm rest assembly.

I/O Board
System Board Assembly
Display Cable
Identify the heat sink location highlighted in blue.
Apply a pea sized amount of thermal material as shown.
Align and place the heat sink on the system board.
Tighten the screws that secure the heat sink to the system board. Tighten in order. Do not over tighten.
SSD
Wireless Module (WWAN)
Battery
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide the SSD into the slot on the system board. Install the blue holder if needed.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system board.
Install the SSD shielding cover on the system board.
Install the screws that secures the SSD shielding cover to the system board.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to its connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to its connector on the system board.
