How to replace the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280 on a DellPro14Plus PB14250 U Series

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280 and a DellPro14Plus PB14250 Useries (1). The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.

Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.

Pry open the base cover from the recesses that are located in the U shaped indents at the top edge of the base cover near the hinges.

Lift the base cover off the palm rest assembly.

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the SSD shielding cover to the system board.

Remove the SSD shielding cover from the system board.

Slide and remove the SSD from the system board.

Install

Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.

Slide and install the SSD into the slot on the system board.

Install the SSD shielding cover on the system board.

Install the screws that secure the SSD shielding cover to the system board.

Base Cover

Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.

Align and place the base cover on the palm rest assembly and snap it into place.

Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
