How to replace the SSD(Solid State Drive) 2230 on a Inspiron 3530

This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the SSD(Solid State Drive) 2230 and a Inspiron 3530. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover and reinstalling them.

Removal

Base Cover

Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.

Remove the screws that secure the base cover.

Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.

Using a plastic scribe, pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.

Remove the base cover by loosening the sides and front.

SSD(Solid State Drive) 2230

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.

Remove the screw that secures the SSD thermal shield to the system.

Slide and lift the SSD thermal shield off the SSD.

Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the system board.

Install

SSD(Solid State Drive) 2230

Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.

Align the notches on the solid state drive (SSD) and slide into the slot on the system board.

Install the SSD thermal shield on the solid state drive (SSD).

Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system.

Base Cover

Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.

Install the base cover and press the edges and sides until it snaps into place.

Tighten the screws captive that secure the base cover.

Install the screws that secure the base cover.
