This 3D experience gives you the step by step process of replacing the Solid State Drive (SSD) 2280 and a Inspiron 5630. The procedure will also include removing the Base Cover, SSD 2280 and reinstalling them.
Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws on the base cover.
Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the system.
Using a plastic scribe, pry to release the cover, starting at the top left corner.
Lift and slide the base cover off the palm rest assembly.
SSD 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) highlighted in blue.
Remove the screw that secures the SSD to the system.
Slide and lift the solid state drive (SSD) from the system board.
Install
SSD 2280
Identify the solid state drive (SSD) location highlighted in blue.
Align and slide the solid state drive (SSD) into the slot on the system board.
Install the screw that secures the SSD to the system.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Place the base cover on the system and snap into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Install the screws that secure the base cover to the palm rest assembly.
