Removal
Base Cover
Identify the base cover highlighted in blue.
Loosen the captive screws that secure the base cover.
Pry the base cover near the hinges to release it from the system.
Remove the base cover by loosening the sides and front.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable highlighted in blue.
Using the pull tab, lift up to disconnect the battery cable from the system board.
Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds to ground the system and remove residual static electricity.
Battery
Identify the battery highlighted in blue.
Loosen the screws that secure the battery.
Lift the battery to remove from the system.

LED Daughterboard
Smart card module
Identify the smart card module highlighted in blue.
Lift latch and disconnect the smart card cable.
Peel the smart card reader cable from the palmrest.
Remove the screws that secure the smart card module to the system.
Lift the smart card reader off the palm rest assembly.
System board Assembly
Identify the system board highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws securing the eDP bracket.
Remove the eDP/display cable bracket from the system.
Using the pull tab, disconnect the display cable from the connector on the system board.
Lift the latch to disconnect the LED board cable.
Peel the LED board cable from the RTC / coin cell.
Peel the coin cell battery from the palm rest. Do not disconnect.
Remove the screws securing the Type-C USB bracket to the system board.
Remove the USB Type-C bracket from the system board.
Remove the screws that secure the system board to the palmrest.
Remove the screws that secure the system fan to the system board.
Tilt and lift the system board to remove it. The USB-C port needs to clear the chassis.
Power Button board
Identify the power button board with optional fingerprint cable highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the power button.
Lift to remove the power button with optional fingerprint cable.
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly highlighted in blue.
Remove the screws that secure the keyboard to the palmrest.
Remove the keyboard away from the system.
Display Assembly
Identify the display assembly highlighted in blue.
Open the display to 180º and lay the system on a flat surface
Remove the screws that secures both left and right hinges to the palmrest assembly.
Remove the display assembly from the palmrest assembly.
Palmrest assembly
Identify the palmrest location highlighted in blue.
Remove the speaker and cable. To assist, use a plastic scribe to lift near the rubber bumpers.
Remove the dummy SIM card filler (applies to systems without WWAN)
After all the parts are removed, the palmrest assembly is remaining.
Install
Palmrest assembly
Identify the palm rest assembly and place on a clean, flat surface.
Install the dummy SIM card filler (applies to systems without WWAN)
Install the speakers in the slots on the system, using the alignment posts as a guide.
Display Assembly
Position the system to enable the display to be installed.
Identify the display assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align the screw holes on the hinges with the screw holes on the palmrest assembly.
Install the screws that secures both left and right hinges to the system board.
Close the display assembly as shown in video
Keyboard Assembly
Identify the keyboard assembly location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the keyboard on the palmrest.
Install the screws to secure the keyboard to the palmrest.
Power Button board
Identify the power button with optional fingerprint cable location highlighted in blue.
Install the power button into the slot on the palmrest.
Install the screws that secure the power button board.
System board Assembly
Identify the system board location highlighted in blue.
Align and place the system board on the palmrest.
Route the RTC / coin cell under the system board and adhere to the palm rest.
Install the screws to secure the system board to the palmrest.
Install the screws to secure the system fan to the system board.
Install the USB Type-C bracket from the system board.
Install the screws securing the Type-C USB bracket to the system board.
Adhere the LED board cable to the RTC / coin cell battery.
Connect the LED board cable and close the latch.
Push down to connect the display cable.
Install the eDP/display cable bracket.
Install the screws to secure the eDP bracket.
Smart card module
Identify the smart card module location highlighted in blue.
Slide the smart card module into the slot to align with the tabs on the system.
Install the screws to secure the smart card module to the system.
Adhere the smart card reader cable to the system.
Connect the smart card cable and lower the latch to secure it.

Battery
Identify the battery location highlighted in blue.
Insert the battery into the slot on the system and align the screw holes.
Tighten the screws to secure the battery.
Battery Cable
Identify the battery cable location highlighted in blue.
Connect the battery cable to the connector on the system board.
Base Cover
Identify the base cover location highlighted in blue.
Align the base cover tabs to the slots, press the cover until it clicks into place.
Tighten the captive screws that secure the base cover to the system.
