The Dimension 2400 supports a maximum of 2gb [2x1gb modules] of DDR RAM.
The Dimension 2400 can use either 400MHz or 533MHz, Socket 478, P-4 Northwood, or Celeron processors with a 512k or smaller cache.
The maximum processor size is a Socket 478 Northwood P4 3.06GHz 533MHz FSB processor.
The 2400 will not take Prescott processors [1mb cache].
Prior to upgrading the processor check that the latest BIOS version is installed, with BIOS version A03 Updated CPU microcode was added to support latest CPUs.

It works!!! I just need to know if I can upgrade the processor to support more than 2GB RAM?
JohnLabib
Congratulations on a successful upgrade.
No, unfortunately, the Dimension 2400 only supports a maximum of 2gb [2x1gb modules] of DDR RAM.

Hi, Processor/motherboard upgrade on machines are not really advisable as they would cost you as much as a new machine.
So its best to buy a new system.

As the chassis is mATX, I'd suggest upgrading the innards, starting with a new motherboard.
What do I enter on eBay? to locate listings of the processor for bid or buy it now?
Yes, it does hold up to 2x1GB and I verified that with the man who answered the phone at discountelectronics.com , he told me that it holds 2x1GB
