aspi for win32 not installed correctly is the error message I get when I open up CDEX. Questions:
1. What does that mean? What is aspi?
2. Could that be the reason Musicmatch jukebox does not recognize a cd writer on my system anymore?" you must have a cd-r drive to be able to record cds" Is the message I get there.
3. Could that be why ECDC does not reognize mp3 files on my system anymore? I had to reinstall that program, and ever since I can't record audio cd's from my "mp3's" folder anymore.

I certainly seem to be having alot of difficulties here.

Yes. Even though ASPI is technically a SCSI standard, the ASPI layer in Windows is used by any number of devices that are not SCSI, including CD-R/RW drives, DVD drives, and non-SCSI scanners.

Can you open MP3s in any program? It's more likely that your inability to write audio CDs is more related to your ASPI issues rather than the computer simply not recognizing the files at all.
