How to recover VMware datastore using EQL Volume snapshot (smart copy) ?

Hi, I am using VMware Std 5.1.0b on Dell EQL 6100 series.

I have an issue where my VM datastore (2 VMs) are stored in one of the EQL Volumes. I had created weekly smart copies.

I tried to recover by creating a "cloned" volume using one of the smart copies. Therefore I would have 2 of the exact same volumes in EQL (one is current and the other is 1 week old).

I can rename them to EQL-current and EQL-old. But there does not seem to be a way for me to mount volume EQL-old to vCenter.

- I re-scanned the ESXi for data stores and tried to add but it just cannot see the volumes

- Is there a step I missed which "removes" and IDs that can differentiate EQL-current and EQL-old ?

When ASM creates the snapshots they are set to Read-ONLY. Check to make sure you change this to Read-Write in the Group Manager GUI first.  Then rescan.  The LVM.EnableResignature won't work unless it is Read-Write.
