BIOS UPDATE INFORMATION
Hi There Everyone!
Can anyone tell me what "ICEMAN" and "COLOSSUS" mean in the "applies to" section of the BIOS update information please?
I am trying to tell if a BIOS update is applicable to my machine (24 5400 AIO). An email from Dell says it is but support assist doesn't find it. I can only see it when I search for updates for my machine manually.

Follow-up:
My Dell tech contact confirmed those are internal code names which were used for 2 models sharing the same BIOS.
The latest BIOS v1.13.0 listed on the support site is suitable for the Inspiron 5400 AIO.
A request to correct the "applies to" will be submitted. And FWIW, if you look at "applies to" for the Intel chipset driver offered for the Inspiron 5400 AIO, it's "strange", in a different way. Hopefully they'll fix both of those at same time.

@RoHe @speedstep Thanks for your replies!
I still don' know why Support Assist did not find this update automatically. Even the option to find the update automatically on the Dell update site does not find this BIOS update. It can only be found using the manual search.
This would therefore suggest that this BIOS update is not applicable for my 24 5400 AIO, even though it says it is in the additional information supplied on the Dell update website. Very confusing.
So should I install it manually, or should I ignore it because Support Assist does not offer it as an update?
I also cannot find what "Iceman" or Colossus" refers to. Does anyone have a lcue?

Just a guess: an internal code name for an existing or to-be-announced product.

@Davie F The page for the latest BIOS 1.13.0 lists your Inspiron 5400 AIO under Compatible Systems.
If you look at the pages for all previous versions of BIOS for the Inspiron 5400 AIO that are listed, all the way back to v1.0.0, they all say: Applies to ICEMAN, COLOSSUS.
So I don't think there's any concern this version is not for your PC. BIOS 1.13.0 was only released on 2-Aug'22, and it may take a day or three before all their databases get updated with the latest info so this version can be offered via SupportAssist or by a direct Service Tag search.
As @NJDave suggested, those may have been internal code names during development for two related PC models that share the same BIOS, or possibly even code names for the BIOS, itself. My Dell tech contact is going to check into it.
FWIW, this isn't the first time "Applies to" on a support page says something odd, and probably not the last time either!

@RoHe Many thanks for your reply Ron and sorry for taking so long to respond. The page formatting on the site has been all over the place but it seems to be sorted now.

Yes, the forum has had serious formatting issues for last week or so, and it took them a while to find/fix the problem, but all should be ok now.
Follow the instructions: Updating the BIOS from BIOS Boot Menu (independent of operating system) on that update page, and post back to let us know the BIOS update worked for you.

Glad the update worked ok. Always safer to do these BIOS updates outside of Windows, via the F12 menu. So keep that in mind for the next time.
Forum looks properly formatted for me this evening, but don't know if there were problems earlier today...
