Dell G15 5525 laptop discharging when plugged in

I have recently bought the laptop I've stated in the title, and because I use my laptop plugged in all the time, I have been using Dell Power Manager on custom setting to determine when to start and stop charging, which is 50% to 60%. However, when I play video games I realize that the battery discharges even though it's plugged in all the time. I haven't noticed this happening when I use my laptop for other purposes, so I don't know, but with video games the situation is as I've stated above. I don't know if this is an issue. If so, how can I solve it? I'm using Win11 and all my drivers and whatnot are updated.

I am not sure why you are so hung up about this?

Just use the laptop.

If this is unacceptable, return the laptop.

  • Verify AC adapter functionality.
  • Charge the battery in BIOS mode or with the laptop turned off.
  • Run the Dell hardware diagnostic test.
  • Check the battery health status.
  • Update the BIOS and Dell Quickset.
  • Run Windows Troubleshooter for battery issues.
  • Uninstall and reinstall Microsoft ACPI Battery driver.
