G3 3590, sleep, battery drains

Hello,

Bought my G3 3590 a few months back and have had no any issues until a few days ago. I put my computer on sleep mode battery was well over 50% charged. The following morning when I started the computer I got a warning stating "critical battery level", also when I plugged my computer in it would not charge.

I ended up updating some drivers, and after tons of restarts, finally the battery started charging. Going into battery options, my system shows the battery life is very good. I thought I had fixed the problem, until I put my computer to sleep and the following day had the same issue, battery level drained and not charging.

The issues seems to once again be resolved and I'll have to wait and see if the battery drains again tonight, I'm going to try completely powering down the laptop to see if that makes a difference. I'm also going to try running a sleep study report to see if anything comes up.

They are working as designed. The system battery will still drain even though it is in sleep mode. Turn the system off if you do not want the system battery to drain.

I have the same issue: The laptop fails to go fully into sleep after closing the lid. Few hours after I close the lid and put it in my backpack, I would find it warm/hot to touch with its battery drained. Trying to start it would yield a "Battery Critical" message.

Interesting, I ended up changing the settings on my computer so that when I close the lid it puts the computer into hibernate mode instead of sleep mode. Had no issues turning my computer on this morning. Probably just gonna be a waiting game to see if it happens again.

Hi,

I have the same problem. Sometimes you can not notice until the fans turn on.
